Nick Tate

AUSTRALIAN ACTOR NICK TATE NAMED 2025 ADAM LEE MEMORIAL AWARD RECIPIENT

The Sydney Science Fiction Film Festival has selected Nick Tate as this year's Adam Lee MEMORIAL AWARD honouree. Ahead of the OPENING NIGHT: STARMAN + Blu's session, a pre-recorded message from Nick will be screened, acknowledging his award.

The award is given to a figure in the science fiction/fantasy community who has exhibited a dedication to their life’s work and served the genre and its fanbase with enthusiasm and passion. Adam Lee was a Melbourne film archivist, genre fan and friend of the festival, who passed away in July 2021.

Sydney-born, now US-based, Nick Tate developed a cult following as 'Astronaut Alan Carter' in the hit TV series
Space:1999, and would go on to appear in fan-favourite episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek The Next Generation, Farscape, Lost and The X-Files.

He is also one of Hollywood's leading voice-over artists. His talent has earned him icon status as 'The Trailer Guy', having voiced ads for JURASSIC PARK, GOLDENEYE,
Independence Day, Apollo 13, DEEP IMPACT and Braveheart.

As part of 2025
Sydney Science Fiction Film Festival line-up, Nick appears in Jeffery Morris' The Eagle Obsession, a heartfelt odyssey into Space:1999 fandom and the positive impact the cult show has had on generations of fans.
